Meet Dr. Carolyn Aldendail

Founder and Director of Neurology Explained

I’m Dr. Carolyn Aldendail, a doctor who believes that patients deserve explanations they can actually understand.

I’m board-certified in Neurology and in Electrodiagnostic Medicine, which is testing of the nerves that connect the brain and spinal cord to the rest of the body.

After experiencing medicine first as a confused patient and later as a rushed physician, I’ve seen how time pressure and medical language can erode connection. I created Neurology Explained to bring clarity, dignity, and teaching back into modern neurological care.

Helping you feel informed, confident, and better equipped to navigate your care.

When Neurology Feels Overwhelming

Neurology can feel overwhelming. Medical words can be confusing. Appointments can feel rushed. You might leave wondering what really matters, what is serious, what is manageable, and what questions you should have asked.

Neurology Explained exists to break that down.

This space is for clear, human explanations about neurology. What symptoms can mean. What questions are worth asking. What treatment choices may be available.

We share careful explanations based on research and delivered with warmth. Because when things make sense, they feel more manageable.

A Hand To Guide You

Neurology Explained replaces fear with understanding.

Everything we create follows four simple principles.

Clarity Over Complexity

We create clarity by avoiding confusing medical words when possible and clearly explaining the right medical terms when they matter. We focus on what is most important for your care.

Accuracy and Honesty

We believe in accuracy and honesty. We explain how likely risks are and what they really mean. Our information is based on current research.

Respect for Your Right to Choose

We respect your right to choose by sharing balanced information about treatment options. This helps you ask good questions and make decisions that fit your values.

Warmth and Humanity

We create warm, human content by recognizing how neurological symptoms and diagnoses can affect patients and caregivers. We also point you toward helpful resources, so you know who to ask for what.
